About Us
Dower House Honey is a family-run artisan honey business based in Swallowfield, rural Berkshire. The family's beekeeping heritage spans over 100 years, with hives originally built in the grounds of the family home in the early 1900s, and a passion for beekeeping passed down through four generations. The business specialises in short-run honey production, with all honey gathered from their own cedar wood, handmade bee-friendly hives sited on nearby local fields in Berkshire's rural countryside. Their product range includes English Summer Honey, English Spring Honey, English Soft Set Honey, and Cut Comb in Honey. All honey is unpasteurised and unblended, keeping the process from hive to jar as short as possible to retain natural nutrients. The business also produces handcrafted wooden products from sustainably sourced timber and beeswax candles, all made in their own workshop. Dower House Honey places a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility, using only plastic-free, recyclable packaging including glass jars, aluminium lids, and recycled paper and card, with a commitment to striving towards zero carbon beekeeping.
