Detroit Hives is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in underserved communities for both people and pollinators by transforming blighted vacant lots into thriving educational apiaries and green spaces. Through this work, we collaborate with community members, partner organizations, and educational institutions to create lasting social, environmental, and economic impact.
Our signature programs further this mission: Bee the Change educates the next generation of leaders on the importance of pollinator conservation, while Bee In Motion promotes mental health, wellness, and mobility, with a special focus on engaging young adults and seniors.
