The rain gave us a day of respite yesterday as the sun shone and the skies cleared to a brilliant blue. Not a cloud in sight as the temperature soared to 10 degrees - yes I know that's still cold! However, as I hovered by the entrance of my hive a bee sauntered out and flew off with aplomb. Joy!!!! And even more joy as a cluster of bees started exiting the entrance. Their aim? possibly catch a bit of sun, recharge their batteries or start to go out and look for some forage. Not much is in bloom this time of year, although, the Hostas are in full flower as are the Snowdrops and Crocuses. Hazel is also a favourite in February with an abundance of bright yellow pollen that the bees love. The video is on my FB/Insta/Telegram pages.
